About this game
Volt Factory is a relaxed idle game about building an energy empire from a single hand crank. Tap the bolt to make your first sparks, then spend them on generators that produce energy automatically. Upgrades multiply your output, and when you are ready you can overload the factory to start again with a permanent boost. Your progress is saved, and the factory keeps working while you are away.
How to play
- Tap the big bolt (or press Space) to generate energy.
- Spend energy on generators. Each one produces energy every second without you.
- Each copy of a generator costs a little more than the last, so mix them up.
- Buy upgrades to multiply your click power or all of your generators.
- When the Overload button appears, use it to reset your run and gain a permanent production boost.

Tips
- Early on, tap by hand and buy Hand Cranks. They pay for themselves quickly.
- Look at the "per second" line under each generator to compare value before you buy.
- Upgrades are almost always worth buying as soon as you can afford them.
- Do not rush the first Overload. Wait until the boost is big enough to feel worth the reset.
- Close the tab whenever you like. Offline progress counts for up to four hours at half speed.

Is Volt Factory free?
Yes. Volt Factory is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Your factory is saved automatically on your device, in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data or using another device starts a new factory.
Does it keep running when I close the page?
The game cannot run in a closed tab, but when you come back it adds the energy you would have made, for up to four hours, at half speed.
What does Overload do?
It resets your energy, generators and upgrades, but gives you permanent overload points that boost your production and click power in every future run. The score of the run you just finished is saved as a best score.
How do I start over?
Use the Erase progress button at the bottom and confirm. This deletes your saved factory.
